What types of travel insurance does Tower offer?
Tower offers both domestic and international travel insurance. The company has five policies:
- International Comprehensive: covers you for loss on overseas trips
- International Essentials: basic overseas cover
- International Frequent Flyer: for frequent travellers
- Domestic Comprehensive: for losses while holidaying in New Zealand
- Domestic Cancellation-only: covers you for cancellations affecting your Kiwi vacation
What does Tower’s International Comprehensive policy cover?
Tower’s International Comprehensive policy provides unlimited cover for overseas medical treatments and repatriation, and for cancellation or curtailment of your travel plans. Also:
- $250,000 medical expenses due to act of terrorism
- $30,000 personal baggage
- $15,000 for travel delay/missed connection
- $6000 rental vehicle excess
- $5000 for loss of Frequent Flyer points
- $3000 for emergency dental
- $50,000 accidental death or permanent disability
- $2.5 million for personal liability cover
What’s covered by Tower’s International Essentials policy?
Tower’s International Essentials policy provides cover for the basics when travelling overseas. It has a lower level of cover for overseas medical treatment, $250,000, plus lower limits across other areas of coverage:
- $5000 for cancellation or curtailment of travel plans
- $500 for emergency dental expenses
- $5000 for personal baggage
- $500,000 for personal liability
- $1000 rental vehicle excess
What does Tower’s International Frequent Flyer Policy cover?
Tower’s International Frequent Flyer policy provides the same level of cover as Tower’s International Comprehensive policy, but across unlimited trips taken over a 12-month period, up to a maximum of 60 days per trip.
What’s covered by Tower’s Domestic Comprehensive policy?
The main features of Tower’s Domestic Comprehensive policy include cover for:
- $15,000 for journey cancellation
- $15,000 for additional expenses
- $2000 for travel delay expenses
- $15,000 for costs endured due to epidemics/pandemics
- $1000 for emergency dental expenses
- $5000 for funeral expenses
- $6000 personal baggage
- $6000 rental vehicle excess
What’s covered by Tower’s Domestic Cancellation-only policy?
Tower’s Cancellation-only policy provides cover up to $600 journey cancellation. Another $600 cover is available in the event of an epidemic or pandemic.
